Get answers to common questions about Clarion, accessibility conformance, and our process.
Our 7-day sprint is designed to take a typical e-commerce store from an unknown accessibility state to WCAG 2.2 AA conformance. This includes a comprehensive audit (Days 0-1), issue prioritization (Days 2-3), guided remediation with your team (Days 3-5), and final verification (Days 6-7). The timeline assumes reasonable dev resources are available and your team is engaged throughout. More complex stores or those with significant tech debt may require additional time.
Clarion tests against WCAG 2.2 AA, which is the technical standard referenced by most accessibility regulations. This includes ADA Title III (US), the European Accessibility Act (EAA), EN 301 549 (EU technical standard), and various state laws. Our reports map issues directly to WCAG success criteria, making it easy to demonstrate compliance efforts to legal and regulatory bodies.
Yes, Clarion is built specifically for e-commerce platforms. We support Shopify (all tiers including Plus), BigCommerce, WooCommerce, and custom headless storefronts. Our AI understands e-commerce-specific patterns like product pages, carts, checkout flows, and account management, allowing us to provide more relevant and actionable fixes.
No accessibility solution can guarantee that 100% of issues are fixed forever. Websites are dynamic - new content, features, and updates can introduce new issues. What Clarion provides is a path to initial conformance, documentation of your remediation efforts, and ongoing monitoring to catch regressions. We focus on the critical user paths that matter most for both compliance and user experience.
For most e-commerce stores, we require zero engineering allocation from your team for the initial audit and fix generation. You make the changes yourselves using our developer-ready code snippets and guides, but we can be involved in your code review process to ensure everything is implemented correctly. This "done-with-you" approach ensures your team maintains ownership while leveraging our expertise.
We can still help. In fact, having a concrete remediation plan and evidence of accessibility efforts is often important in responding to legal demands. Our 7-day sprint is designed to move quickly, and our documentation is created with legal defensibility in mind. That said, we're not lawyers - always consult with legal counsel for specific legal situations. Mark the appropriate box in our demo form and we'll prioritize your inquiry.
No. Clarion is categorically different from overlays. We work at the source code level, identifying issues in your actual HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and providing code fixes you implement in your codebase. Overlays attempt to "fix" accessibility issues with JavaScript after the page loads, which often doesn't work reliably and has been rejected by accessibility advocates and many courts. Our approach results in genuine, sustainable accessibility improvements.
Clarion accesses your live storefront URLs the same way any customer would - through the public-facing website. We do not require access to your source code repositories. We temporarily cache page content for analysis but do not store customer PII or payment data. All data handling is covered in our security policy, and we can provide additional documentation for enterprise customers with specific security requirements.
